Getting a certified flight instructor rating allows you the opportunity to step into the helicopter industry and begin passing your knowledge on to new students. It makes you a well-rounded pilot by sharpening your skills and introducing you to networking opportunities.

FAA requirements:

  1. Bullet applicant must hold a commercial helicopter pilot license and a second class medical certificate

  2. Bullet obtain sufficient dual instruction for proficiency

  3. Bullet pass the FAA aeronautical knowledge and flight proficiency exam ‘check-ride’

  4. Bullet pass two FAA knowledge written exams
